Alamo Area Council of Governments Alamo and Bexar Area Agency on Aging

Volunteers are needed to serve as an ombudsmanadvocate for local nursing home residents. The goal of the ombudsman program is to ensure the best possible quality of life in Texas' long term care facilities. While in the home, the volunteer will talk with residents, family members and guests to identify any complaints or problem areas. Then, the volunteer will work with those individuals and the staff to resolve these issues. Ombudsman also provide information about rights and procedures and help identify additional resources in or out of the facility. Locations are in Campbellton, Charlotte, Christine, Jourdanton, Leming, Lytle, McCoy, Peggy, Pleasanton and Poteet.
