At Playworks we believe in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid. Every day, we work tirelessly to ensure that every kid gets a chance to play on our playgrounds. While our recess coaches are out on our partner school playgrounds, our office staff are also hard at work, doing the background work that makes our organization run. This 10 week internship focuses on learning basic non-profit development skills, and an introduction to Salesforce. Salesforce is a cloud based platform used by Playworks and many other nonprofits to organize data and manage relationships. We are looking for a bright and dedicated intern looking to enter the nonprofit world that can commit to one 4 hour timeframe per week for 8-10 weeks. Specific dates and time to be arranged.
This internship may include other components, based on the interest of the candidate as well as the current needs of the organization. Projects may include: assisting with direct email campaigns, executing a personal fundraising campaign, volunteering with a coach at our schools, event planning, and corporate engagement.
Learning Objectives include:
Proficiency at Salesforce basics including: Contact information, Opportunities, Reports, and Campaigns
Proficiency in corporate prospect research
Proficiency in major donor prospect research
Experience in nonprofit fundraising
Proficiency in Google email and docs
Intermediate computer and Internet literacy
Independent worker that can thrive with little instruction
Possess analytic and organizational skills
