Volunteer Position Title: Data Entry Clerk for the Angel Tree Program

Purpose: The position of the Data Entry Clerk for the Angel Tree Program serves to assist with the registration of families into our Christmas Assistance program. The Angel Tree Program supports the mission of to meet human needs without discrimination. The Date Entry Clerk will represent The Salvation Army to the families in need of our assistance during the registration days and times.

Location: Data Entry Clerks will be assigned to one of the following registration locations: 2122 Palm Beach Lakes in West Palm, or 4051 Kirk Rd in Lake Worth, or 300 SW 2 nd Ave in Boca Raton. There will also be a registration date for Belle Glade.

Key Responsibilities of the Data Entry Clerk for the Angel Tree Program:

  • Greet each client with respect and courtesy
  • Ask the client to produce the required proofs of registration
  • Analyze the required proofs provided making sure that enough information is provided
  • Interview the Client and enter the Client’s information into the database
  • Print a receipt of registration for the client

Responsible to: The Salvation Army Officer or Program Coordinator on Site

Shifts Available: The Data Entry Clerks for 2016 will be needed as follows

v West Palm Beach Sept 13-16 and Oct 11-14 9am-12pm and 1pm-330pm

v Lake Worth Sept 13-16 and Oct 11-14 9am-12pm and 1pm-330pm

v Boca Raton Sept 13-16 and Oct 11-14 9am-12pm and 1pm-330pm

v Belle Glade Oct 4-5 9am-12pm and 1pm-330pm

Qualifications:

□ Registration and Background Check with Voluntary Services

□ Training session on Database system prior to taking live registrations (August 22-26)

□ Bilingual Skills are a plus but not required

□ Minimum 1 Full day of service required

Skills:

  • Professional and Pleasant manner
  • Ability to accurately and quickly enter information into a database
  • Basic knowledge of computer.
  • Able to interview clients to gain the required data for entry
  • Problem-solving ability

Support: Training for this position will be provided by Voluntary Services and Site Supervisors

Dress Code: Business Casual
