ORGANIZATION: Nyingma Institute

The Buddhist tradition has always emphasized community: the Sangha is one of the three foundations of the path. What will this

mean in the US, where the basic values and outlook are so different from other cultures with deeply embedded Buddhist traditions?

Here are some key questions:

  • How can we act in solidarity, creating a Dharma community?

  • How can we support each other on the path to Awakening?

  • How can we contribute to the preservation and transmission of the Tibetan Buddhist lineage?

  • How can we share by example what we are learning?

If these questions inspire you, we invite you to explore them in an immediate, embodied way by joining The Mandala Training Program (MTP). Our goal is to share and teach Tibetan Buddhism and all that it has to offer to a new generation of students and practitioners.

You will live in an established Buddhist community, spend about 30-35 hours a week doing work that supports the activity of the Nyingma Mandala of Organizations. You will take three classes a week, open to MTP students only. There is a daily morning meditation for all participants, Saturday workshops about once a month, and two short retreats at the beginning and end of the program. Options for making a more long-term commitment at the end of six-months are possible.

This is a six month program with nominal tuition. The next session starts in January 2017.
