Calendar Director - Position Description One Brick Philly
Position Description The Calendar Director is a key member of the Chapter's Board, creating the events on the One Brick calendar each month. The calendar typically contains 5-8 events per month depending on the season. We work with several dozen nonprofits in the area. The Calendar Director must balance both the incoming requests from non-profits, and the preferences and availability of the both our event team and our volunteers. They also work to ensure a good mix of both new and recurring events. As One Brick Philly grows and the number of events increase each month, the Calendar Director may begin to lead a team of 2-3 volunteers focusing on the calendar .
Estimated Time Commitment The Calendar Director can expect to spend approximately 10 hours a month on One Brick tasks. This breaks down as: 2hrs/week - interacting with non-profits and creating events 2hrs/month - meeting with the events team and the Chapter Board
Key Skills To be successful the Calendar Director needs to be extremely organized, a clear communicator and able to work with a team to achieve common goals. It is also important that s/he is able to respond to emails in a timely manner; preferably within 1-2 days.
Impact and Benefits One Brick helps hundreds of non-profits every year. As Calendar Director you will direct our work by helping select these partners. On a personal level, you will build personal relationships with all of our partners. This would be a great stepping off point for someone trying to launch or build a career in the non-profit world. From a skills development perspective, you will learn how to work with a team and juggle competing priorities. You'll also get to work with One Brick's amazing team. The One Brick model has been hugely successful! Last year, One Brick volunteers contributed 50,000 hours (25 person years) to the communities we serve.
