About

Duties:

  • Strategize, implement and analyze brand building techniques
  • Design and implement a promotion campaign for the BEST’s pilot programs
  • Identify relevant media outlets and ensure BEST is represented through them
  • Assist with media outreach by writing articles and press releases
  • Assist with any other public relations matters as needed
  • Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image
  • Create company literature and other forms of communication
  • Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
  • Copyedit, proofread, and revise communications
  • Design and launch email marketing campaigns
  • Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals
  • Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references
  • Research media coverage and industry trends
  • Develop fresh story ideas.
  • Help to clarify the organization’s point of view to their main constituency
  • Reports to Executive Director

Hours:

This volunteer position requires an average of five to ten hours per month. We ask for a minimum of six month commitment.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to BEST’s mission
  • Strong writing, editing, communications and media relations skill set
  • Prior marketing/public relations experience or degree preferred
  • Experience with online marketing
