The Team Hope Walk program is the Huntington's Disease Society of America's signature grassroots fundraising campaign designed to provide hope and support for those touched by Huntington's disease, a devastating disease, that affects a person's ability to walk, talk, think and reason. It is said that having HD is like having Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ALS--simultaneously.
HDSA's Washington, DC Chapter is hosting the 5th Annual Great Washington, DC Team Hope Walk & 5k on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Bluemont Park in Arlington, VA. We are looking for a few great volunteers to help us organize the walk and make it a smashing success!
Volunteers will be helping to secure local business support and raffle donations, promoting the walk and recruiting participants, and ensuring that everyone has a great experience at the walk on the afternoon of the event.
This volunteer opportunity is perfect for any age and skill level, committee meetings happen mostly by phone with an occasional in-person meeting, and volunteers can determine how much time to dedicate to the project.
If you are interested in this opportunity we would love to have your support! Contact Ms. Shawn K Supers at ssupers@hdsa.org or call 540-431-8573. Please be sure to include your phone number in email communications so we can be sure to follow up with you about this great volunteer opportunity!
