Are you a walking enthusiast with a love for data entry? Do you want to harness your database knowledge to support pedestrian issues? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you!

Benefits of This Volunteer Role: Support Oregon Walks’ work while building your resume and while growing own data management and organizational skills. Develop understanding of transportation issues and community engagement and help increase Oregon Walks’ capacity to promote walking conditions that are safe, convenient and attractive for everyone throughout the Portland metropolitan region.

Volunteer Role and Responsibilities: The Office Assistant supports Oregon Walks’ Executive Director, Volunteer Coordinator, and Fundraising Committee Chair by:

  • Doing Data entry
  • Organizing electronic & paper files
  • Assisting in creation of materials for committee & board meetings
  • Responding to donors with Thank You cards and similar correspondence
  • Assisting with events planning & execution
  • Performing related duties as needed

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours a week; schedule dependent on volunteer’s availability.

Supported by: Executive Director/ Fundraising Committee Chair & Volunteer Coordinator

Qualifications: Dedication to pedestrian issues;interest in healthy communities and social equity; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work with Sales Force expert to learn new skills and trouble shoot issues.

Technical Skills: Previous experience with and basic knowledge of Sales Force, Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with Google Drive.

Everyone who leaves home is a pedestrian, whether in a wheelchair, stroller, or on foot, even getting to a motor vehicle or mass transit.
