If you are outgoing and are fluent in either English OR Spanish, we want YOU to become a Family Literacy Presenter.
During fun, family-oriented before- or after-school events, Family Literacy Presenters use a script to talk to interested groups of parents about the importance of reading to their kids, ways to incorporate reading into their homes, using local resources, and how to encourage their children to develop the habits and attitudes that can break the cycle of low literacy.
After attending training on Wednesday, August 10, you can sign-up for whichever locations and dates work for your schedule. It's easy to find Family Literacy Events that are convenient for you; events usually happen on Thursday afternoons and evenings during the school year at schools and community centers throughout Houston.
Email us today to sign-up for training, and learn how you can open the doorway of literacy for Houston-area families!
