Help children: Become a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). CASA of the Pikes Peak region provides a volunteer's voice in court for children who are victims of abuse, neglect or domestic conflict. You don't have to be a lawyer or social worker to volunteer. You just need to be over 21, care about children, and be willing to complete a comprehensive training program. The CASA program offers an opportunity to advocate for a child by speaking up on his/her behalf. CASAs help ensure that all children in the community have safe and permanent homes.
For more information on becoming a CASA or to explore other volunteer opportunites with CASA visit www.casappr.org or call Uriko at (719) 447-9898, Extension 1060. or urikos@casappr.org. All programs are facilitated at the new location at 418 S. Weber Street.
