This position coordinates KYRS' many volunteers with the needs of the organization.

Assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers may serve and in the recruitment of volunteers from the community.
Provide a central coordinating point for effective volunteer management within the station, and assist staff and volunteer efforts to jointly provide beneficial outcomes.
Encourage underserved/foreign language/multi-ethnic groups for volunteer involvement.
Assist staff in the development of volunteer jobs and position descriptions.
Oversee and coordinate volunteer recruitment and placement.
Organize volunteer orientations and trainings.
Recruit volunteers for KYRS events/outreach.
Communicate with outreach coordinator and station manager to stay aware of KYRS outreach and benefit events.
Maintain a system of updated records on each volunteer, including dates of service, position held, duties performed, and hours given.
Create volunteer positions that include a description of the purpose and duties of a position, and a timeframe for the performance of the job.
Communicate with volunteers via volunteer newsletter, Facebook, emails and phone.
Maintain a culture of community for volunteers, i.e. volunteer potlucks, etc.
Attend staff meetings.
Report regularly to station manager.
