Sewa International Houston seeks an energetic and enthusiatic educational coordinator to help lead one of our award-winning ASPIRE tutorials centers in Southwest Houston.

Our ASPIRE center in the San Marcos apartment complex provides Hispanic immigrant students, ages 5-12, with the academic support they need to stay in school, to enhance their academic progress, and to boost their confidence with regards to future academic and career oriented success. Open Tuesdays through Saturdays, the center offers a variety of engaging, hands-on activities in English, Math, Science and Arts & Crafts.

As a coordinator, you would help foster the academic development of our ASPIRE San Marcos kids by creating lesson plans and working directly with the children.

The center is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Coordinators are paid for their services.

Coordinators would be needed Tuesday to Saturday.

Spanish-speaking abilities are a must! Tutoring/teaching background or experience working with kids are a plus.

About Sewa International Houston

Location:

1000 West Oaks Mall, Houston, TX 77082, US

Mission Statement

Sewa USA is a grass-root organization aspiring to spread the message of service to low income families of Houston (SEWA). Whether it is a disaster or a daily struggle for an average person, committed volunteers of Sewa take that extra mile to ensure that a helping hand and a loving heart is not away from the individuals in need, wherever they are and whenever they need it. When Katrina hit in Louisiana , hundreds of families came with Sewa to provide food and shelter to the victims of the disasters. We opened our homes for affected people and provided helping hand. Similarly Sewa volunteers and affiliated NGOs worked to provide relief to victims of Ike in Galveston, Tsunami in South Asia, flood in Guyana and so on. We carry the same spirit of service in day to day life and wish to make this world a better place with every moment we live.
