Clients in the Lacey and Olympia areas are needing help with light housework in their homes. Many clients are adults with disabilities or seniors and often find it difficult to keep up with housework that requires more back/hip movement such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping. Clients are low income and cannot afford a paid cleaning service. Volunteer Services needs volunteers to help with even a couple of hours a month to help folks in the community maintain a safe space for independent living. We also reimburse for mileage!

Description
Our program exists as a safety net for low-income elders and people with disabilities (also low-income)by providing them with services that allow them to remain living as independently as possible in their own homes (not assisted living). For example, a 89 year old woman who only collects $600/mo. in Social Security needs help with her lawn. She can't afford to pay someone, and if her lawn goes a couple of months without being mowed, now the lawn is a fire hazard.
