ORGANIZATION: The Delaware Valley Fairness Project

  • 1 person is interested

We're looking for 1 or 2 people to produce an e-newsletter for our fairly new nonprofit. The newsletter will be published monthly, but with intermittent updates on subjects of interest. Newsletter experience is helpful, but not necessary.

Those suitable for this volunteer work will come with good written communications skills plus a commitment to our mission: namely, to giving people, especially K-12 students, skills and opportunities to lift themselves from poverty, disadvantage and discrimination.

Our volunteers also have to be flexible and open to change. Our organizational philosophy is to address social justice issues and human needs as they arise, to measure and evaluate what we do, and to adapt our programs and services to what we learn from data and feedback.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.dvfairness.org.

About The Delaware Valley Fairness Project

Location:

113 N Bread Street, Suite 5F, Philadelphia, PA 19106, US

Mission Statement

to make life 'a little more fair' for people experiencing poverty, disadvantage and/or discrimination by enriching K-12 education, furthering innovative, sustainable efforts of people to better themselves and their communities, and, when resources allow, meeting emergency needs of individuals, families and small organizations serving our target populations.

Description

The Delaware Valley Fairness Project is a 501(c)(3) corporation working to improve opportunities for the underprivileged and people otherwise excluded from society's main stream. Our flagship program is our Education Assistance Program through which we provide supplies and funds for creative, sustainable learning opportunities in under-resourced K-12 schools and sponsor student events such as science fairs, art competitions, essay contests and the like in such schools. We also are launching a program to work collaboratively with other nonprofits to foster self-sufficiency among economically and socially disadvantaged people.
