Are you interested in working with a group of adults to help them improve their English language skills? Come volunteer with the Backside Learning Center! The majority of students in the Beginner English course will be native Spanish speakers, which requires that the instructor be able to speak Spanish at least at a conversational level. English instructors will need to go back and forth between the two languages to make sure students are able to follow the lesson. The BLC will provide instructors with the appropriate curriculum for the class along with supplemental materials that volunteers are welcome to integrate into lessons to help stimulate learning. There are abundant resources in the BLC for English instruction including your teacher manual, textbooks, workbooks and other activities and games.

Note: Classes will run from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday-Thursday. Volunteer instructors are requested to commit to one ESL session per week, for 6 weeks
