The Area Agency on Aging's Healthy Living Department offers Evidence Based Workshops within senior communities that focus on Fall Prevention, Balance, Living with Chronic Diseases, and Caregiver support.

We Train Volunteers At No Charge To Become Facilitators In Their Community And Help Deliver Evidence Based Workshops Such As

  • Tai Chi - Moving For Better Balance
  • Matter of Balance
  • Chronic Disease Self-Management
  • Diabetes Self-Management
  • Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Once you become a certified coach you can deliver these Evidence Based programs in senior communities around Palm Beach County, Treasure Coast, Martin, and Port Saint Lucie.

Tai Chi - Moving for Better Balance is a 24 week course that meets one hour, twice a week. (stipend for travel included)

Matter of Balance is an 8 week course that meets two hours, once a week. (stipend for travel included)

Chronic Disease and Diabetes Self-Management are 6 week courses that meets 2 hours, once a week.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers meets for 1 1/2 hours once a week for 6 weeks.

Description

Area Agency on Aging is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. We plan for and fund services for the people we serve through a network of care providers throughout Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties. Through our Helpline, we provide services and information on aging issues, advocacy, one-on-one assistance, and a host of services that help seniors maintain their independence.

For more than 25 years we have been helping seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Services are available to the entire community regardless of ability to pay.
