The APCA Civic Engagement Internship Program supports young AAPI leaders to explore a career in nonprofits, public health, or communitty organizing. This internship program will provide hands on experience and training on how to organize and implement voter activities to increase the participation of AAPIs in the electoral process.
APCA is currently accepting applications for 2016 Civic Engagement Internship Program. These are stipended internships. Interns will work on a nonpartisan voter education and registration effort. Activities include flyering in the community, in-person voter registration, phone banking, and door knocking. The role also involves the recruitment of other volunteers for tasks that require more than three people. Interns will receive a $2,000 stipend at the successful conclusion of the campaign. This project begins on July 25th, 2016 and concludes on November 8th. Being bilingual in Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and Hindi is a plus.
