"Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet"

Are you a loving and kind individual with a fondness for seniors?
Do you have a certified therapy animal who loves cuddling with friends?
Are you looking for a way to give back in your community?

Kindred Hospice is looking for volunteers with therapy pets to visit our patients in facilities and homes throughout the Chicagoland area!

You and your pet can help our patients by

  • Lifting spirits
  • Releasing the feeling of isolation
  • Opening up dialogue
  • Providing companionship
  • Providing socialization
  • Creating motivation
  • Making memories
Our volunteers are asked to spend 2-8 hours a month with our patients with life-limiting illnesses who are often feeling isolated and could use the furry friendship of a comforting creature.
Hours are flexible, but we do ask that our volunteers make a minimum of a 1 year commitment.
All volunteer positions require a Physical and two step TB test, a fingerprinting background check, and a drug screen - paid for by Kindred. Therapy pets must be certified by a Pet Therapy Organization (Therapy Dogs International, Pet Partners, Alliance of Therapy Dogs, etc)

If this opportunity sounds like a good fit for you we'd love to meet you!
