The Council for Workforce Development in Washington, DC is committed to supporting the residents in under resourced areas of the city to bcome self-sufficient. The Council seeks to lead the coordination, collaboration and communication among organizations providing Workforce Development training and employers with employment opportunities for residents of the District of Columbia.

To fulfill this commiment, the Council is seeking volunteers to assist with the administration of a variety of responsibilities to strengthen the Council in the following areas:

  • Marketing
  • Event Planning
  • Preparing the Board meeting agenda and distributing it to members of the Board each month
  • Managing the membership database
  • Creating and distributing follow-up materials for Membership Meetings held every other month, during the year
  • Creating and distributing materials after one or more of the events sponsored by the Council each year

Description

Southeast Children's Fund is located in the southeast section of Washington, DC. The residents of the neighborhood are resilient and determined to overcome some significant challenges in their lives. Southeast Children's Fund provides high quality, early care and education services to young children, 6 weeks to 5 years old, to make sure they receive the care and education necesssary to have the foundation they deserve to succeed in school and life.

Southeast Children's Fund offers professional development courses and activities to individuals who are interested in entering the field of Early Care and Education, including the Child Development Associatae (CDA) course.
