DON'T EVER SAY NURSING CATS CAN'T GET PREGNANT. We have one that desperately needs a foster home. Willa was rescued with three 8 week old kittens from San Diego State University Extension Campus in Calexico a few days ago. When we took them to the vet for exams the vet told us Willa is 40+ days pregnant and will be delivering within 2 weeks. The foster we had lined up can handle a mama cat and her three kittens but NOT a PREGNANT mama cat and kittens so we need to find Willa a foster home fast where she can have her babies safely. We can't have her 3 kittens with her when she gives birth because they will want to nurse even though they are eating well on their own. PLEASE IF YOU CAN, OPEN UP YOUR HEART TO THIS GOOD NATURED KITTY THAT WAS DUMPED AT A COLLEGE CAMPUS and let her have her babies safely in your home. All you need is a separate room, bathroom will do or office or even a walk in closet. We will provide the guidance, vetting and any other help you need. Contact foster@southerncountiesrescue.org. This is Willa at the campus just before we rescued her.

Mission Statement
Southern Counties Rescue is committed to making a difference in the lives of unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens.
In addition to rescuing and placing cats and kittens in need, Southern Counties Rescue is equally passionate about reducing the number of stays and unwanted kittens by supporting all spay/neuter programs and educating the public on the need to fix their own pets and any cats that wander into their yards, especially if they are feeding them.
Description
Southern Counties Rescue is an all volunteer (no paid staff), nonprofit, no-kill organization devoted to finding loving new homes for homeless cats and kittens in Imperial, San Diego and Orange Counties cats. Members and adoption events of SCR were formerly part of Kitten Rescue, Los Angeles, LA’s largest cat rescue organization. Many of our cats are rescued from high kill city shelters at the 11 th hour - right before they are scheduled to be euthanized. We also take in friendly moms with kittens born in backyards, kittens born in feral colonies, and cats abandoned on the streets to fend for themselves. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of these animals.
Unfortunately, we receive many more calls for help than we can answer. Volunteers are always needed to foster abandoned cats and kittens, staff adoption events, help with transportation, fundraising, assisting with web postings, paperwork or publicity and for numerous other jobs.
