Due to the COVID - 19 crisis classroom visits are postponed indefinitely. Please reach out if you would like details once new information is available. Thank you!
Visit an 11th grade classroom on 3 Wednesdays: (dates TBD) from 9:45-10:30am teaching a different Junior Achievement (JA) lesson during each visit. The 3 JA lessons focus on money-management strategies that include earning, employment and income, budgeting, savings, credit and debt, consumer protection, smart shopping, risk management, and investing. The name of the lesson series is JA Personal Finance.
Junior Achievement (JA) volunteers teach students how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers, and prepare students to succeed in school and beyond. JA volunteers share their personal and professional experiences while facilitating a series of lessons loaded with fun, hands-on activities. Students understand and connect what they are learning in the classroom with the real world through JA lessons.
This opportunity at Patrick Henry High School is just three 45-minute visits to one of 7 classrooms that will get the JA Personal Finance lessons at the same time by different JA volunteers. These JA lessons can be taught by a single volunteer or a team of two people.
This opportunity is at Patrick Henry High School, 4320 Newton Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55412
We are looking for volunteers to cover all 7 of these 11th grade classrooms - time frame is 9:45am-10:30am on the following 3 Wednesdays: 4/15, 5/6 & 5/13
Please contact us to find out more!
