ORGANIZATION: Ark-Tex Area Agency on Aging (Council of Gov)

One opportunity is to train to be a Volunteer LTC Ombudsman. Ombudsmen advocate for quality of life and quality of care for residents living in nursing homes and assisted living. Residents need a friend representing their needs and concerns. Be that friend!

Next opportunity is to train to be a Benefits Counselor. Help people with Medicare in your community get access to more affordable prescription drugs! Volunteers are needed to provide one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare who have questions about their prescription drug coverage and/or need help joining a Medicare prescription drug plan. Inform seniors of benefits available to them that will reduce their cost of medical coverage.
