PAAFF 2015

Philadelphia Asian American Film and Filmmakers (PAAFF), a Philly based non-profit is searching for a volunteer in-house tax officer.

Participation will typically require attendance at monthly general meetings, occurring in the first week of each month at the International House in University City. Involvement may entail additional meetings or discussions with the Board of Directors to retrieve, organize and share organizational records and tax information.

Duties include but may not be limited to:

  • Assist with preparing/filing PAAFF annual tax returns, presently including FY 2014/2015
  • Assist with achieving and maintaining 501c non-profit org status
  • Help organize Dropbox archive
  • Recommend workflow for collecting, recording and categorizing org expenses
  • Centralize data and make navigable for Board group access to org’s financial health

PAAFF has an exciting group of volunteers and is active with many events throughout the year. Involvement beyond the above described tasks is optional because we desire, first and foremost, an experienced tax advisor without burden of additional responsibility. Will strongly consider adding a committed and experienced tax professional as a member of our Advisory Board.

Philadelphia has a strong, emerging film industry and one of the largest Asian American populations in the country (over 90,000 Asian Americans in Philadelphia county according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). In 2013, Philadelphia was named one of the Top Cities To Be A Moviemaker. PAAFF works year round to promote and add to the diversity of Philadelphia and has established a diverse and strong network of partners, supporters, friends and sponsors.

Since 2008 PAAFF is proud to have presented dozens of culturally relevant films and exciting programming to broad and diverse audiences from Chinatown to Center City to University City. The Asian American Film Festival is PAAFF’s marquee annual event, occurring every November in and around the city of Philadelphia.

Please contact Suan (Suan@phillyasianfilmfest.org) to discuss the opportunity, your qualifications and any questions. We appreciate your consideration!
