**Application Deadline Extended!**
The Philadelphia Food Access Collaborative is seeking dynamic individuals with experience in volunteer recruitment and management to serve as mentors to emergency meal site providers in Philadelphia. Mentors will work with emergency meal sites in Philadelphia that regularly serve meals to vulnerable individuals in congregate settings. Emergency meal sites often seek volunteers to cook or serve meals, fundraise, facilitate onsite services (such as clothing drives and food pantries), and manage partnerships with social service agencies, among other roles. Mentors will share best practices and support emergency meal sites as they develop volunteer descriptions and recruitment strategies, create a volunteer handbook and orientation, and implement volunteer management and retention practices. In addition, mentors can be involved in the development of curriculum and materials for the mentorship program.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Mentors will meet with emergency meal site providers for two hours each month over a six month period at their emergency meal site. Mentors will also be invited to participate in a Volunteer Recruitment and Management 101 training for emergency meal site staff and volunteers.
