ORGANIZATION: Hoard Historical Museum

Archive Assistant Volunteers read historic newspapers and retype the articles. They may also write out in longhand. Transcribing oral history recordings can also be part of an archivists duties. Research supports museum programming and exhibit materials. Six month commitment is required. Volunteers serve twice a month, for 3 hour shifts.

The mission of the Hoard Historical Museum is to preserve, protect, and promote the history of the Fort Atkinson area from its earliest inhabitants to the present day.

Description

The Hoard Historical Museum is a small town museum with big time exhibits. The Museum partners with the City of Fort Atkinson, the National Dairy Shrine, and area nonprofits to provide visitors with access to 2 historic house museums, exhibits on the Civil War, Native American Mounds, Notable locals, 6 diverse gardens, and so much more!
