During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Volunteers are needed all year round at Mision Mexico and people from all over the world come to donate their time to us.
We consider a volunteer to be a 'friend with authority’ here at Mision Mexico. The children need love and fun but also guidance and discipline.
Every volunteer has some talent that they can share. You don’t need to be an engineer or a certified child psychologist. A genuine love for children and an enthusiasm to work is a basic requirement.
Volunteering at Mision Mexico is not a holiday but a busy work time; however it is incredibly rewarding and you will walk away from the place with the satisfaction that you have made a difference in the lives of the children.Centro, Tapachula, Chiapas 30709, MX
Our mission To provide refuge and hope to orphaned, abandoned, abused and disadvantaged children by giving them a home, family, love, education and opportunities for advancement in all areas of their lives. Our vision Through a loving, caring, family environment where we focus on education, the children in our care will have the opportunities to grow and reach their full potential.
Mision Mexico is a children’s refuge providing love, life and hope to 29 children and teenagers in our home in southern Mexico.
The children - aged between 5 and 17 years old - come to us from backgrounds of poverty, neglect and abuse. We aim to provide them with a loving home where they are considered one of the family, along with emotional support and educational advancement.
Since it was established in 2001, Misión México has helped transform the lives of more than 250 children, giving them a much deserved second chance at life. All are regaining a sense of confidence and self respect having found Misión México.
The refuge resembles a family home rather than an institution, where the children feel loved and secure. The children attend school, something most of them had not experienced before. They also have access to tutors who help with their studies as many of the children find it hard to learn due to their abuse or never having been to school.
We also provide a Youth Transition Program, which prepares our teenagers and young adults for life outside the refuge.
We have a small, dedicated staff but are also dependent on the wonderful volunteers who come us from all over the world to share their skills and love with the children here.
We'll work with your schedule.
