Join us as we restore the 113 year old wooden light station near Anacortes. Work with professional carpenters and skilled do-it-yourselfers, and learn as you go. There's every kind of activity going on, from sweeping and cleaning, to gardening, plumbing, solar installation, basic wiring and support services like keeping the crew fed.
The two helicopter pads could use some attention, too.
Have a skill/trade, but would rather learn another? Sounds great! Let's share knowledge.

Mission Statement
The Northwest Schooner Society works to preserve the vessels, facilities and skills of our maritime heritage.
Description
By teaching sailing aboard historic ships, the Northwest Schooner Society demonstrates the power of teamwork, the interconnectedness of people and their environment and the exhilaration of mastering new challenges. We harness the wind, giving our students-of-any-age a new perspective on their own strengths and weaknesses.
Two properties are currently being restored and operated, the 1926 Schooner Lavengro, homeported in Seattle, and the 1906 Burrows Island Light Station, off the grid near Anacortes, WA.
