Want a dog but can't have one right now! Looking for something to do a couple hours a week? Extra time between classes this semester? Interested in spending that time gaining meaningful, rewarding experience helping out a local non-profit in the community?
Gemini’s Pampered Greyhounds is now accepting applications for committed, reliable, hardworking volunteers to help care for retired racing greyhounds while they search for their forever homes! GPG is an adoption group that focuses on placing greyhounds in loving homes and educating the community about how wonderful this working breed is as a pet!
Volunteer responsibilities include helping out with day-to-day tasks (general dog care, cleaning, walking, feeding and socialization). Applicants must be comfortable around energetic, large breed dogs and not afraid to get dirty. A commitment of 2-3 hours per week on a long term basis is required. All incoming volunteers are also required to go through a training period. Individuals with animal or farm experience are especially encouraged to apply!
If getting dirty is not your thing, GPG is also seeking volunteers to help with fundraising, social media, website design, and grant writing. Those with experience in these areas are especially encouraged to apply as well!

Mission Statement
It is Gemini's Pampered Greyhounds' Mission to promote greyhound adoption by finding responsible, loving, appropriate homes for greyhounds that fail to qualify for racing, regardless of their age and health condition. GPG will arrange for and provide all necessary medical care, including ensuring all greyhounds/retired racers are spayed/neutered before they are adopted and will gradually transition greyhounds from their racing career to retirement and placement into a forever home. GPG will arrange temporary volunteer (foster) homes for greyhounds while they are waiting for their adoption by forever homes/families. Furthermore, it is GPG's mission to provide retired racers with socialization and training to prepare them for adoption. In addition to the care and adoption of the greyhounds, it is GPG's mission to assist, instruct, and educate the public and adoptive families about the greyhound breed, responsible pet ownership, and overall care, treatment, and training of greyhounds.

Gemini's Pampered Greyhounds, Inc. (GPG), is a 501c(3) non-profit Greyhound adoption group, based in Amherst MA. It is GPG's Mission to promote Greyhound adoption by finding responsible, loving, appropriate homes for retired racing greyhounds. Our aim is to raise public awareness about greyhounds by giving the public an opportunity to meet others who have adopted greyhounds, to learn more about the breed, and to find out what wonderful companions and furkids this breed becomes when they retire from their racing career.
