The role of the hospice volunteer is to provide their time and compassion to those with terminal illnesses. A volunteer may spend their time sitting with a patient and talking about their memories, watching television, playing games, or reading aloud. Even simply sitting and holding the hand of an individual and saying a prayer with them can make an enormous difference in their life. The opportunities are endless! We have volunteer opportunities in both patient homes and senior care facilities. Remember, the last good thing that may happen in a person's life is a hospice volunteer.
We realize that volunteering is just one part of your busy life. You can volunteer when it is most convenient for you, whether it’s once in a while or on a regular basis - whenever your schedule allows.
Become an Icon Volunteer and treasure the memories!

Description
The role of the hospice volunteer is to provide their time and compassion to those with terminal illnesses. A volunteer may spend their time sitting with a patient and talking about their memories, watching television, playing games, reading aloud, or giving their family member an hour or two to run errands. Even simply sitting and holding the hand of an individual and saying a prayer with them can make an enormous difference in their life. Volunteers can also work in our main office helping to answer phones or doing some light filing. The opportunities are endless! We have volunteer opportunities in both patient homes and senior care facilities. Remember, the last good thing that may happen in a person's life is a hospice volunteer.
