Are you looking for more positive interactions in the New Year? Are you tired of the negativity that we see so often on the news, or on social media? Consider joining the Foster Grandparent Program for a joyful and rewarding experience!

Catholic Charities Central MN Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors, ages 55 and over, the opportunity to work with students in local schools, or other non-profit agencies with children who need extra assistance. Typically school "Grandmas" and "Grandpas" work one-on-one with kids who need some extra support and love. Volunteers enjoy the positivity and cheerfulness of the students. A Foster Grandparent recently said, "If you come to school with a tear in your eye you will leave with laughter in your heart!"

The Foster Grandparent Program offers many benefits to those who participate, including a tax free reimbursement of $2.65 per hour, transportation reimbursement for mileage or for using a city bus, orientation, on-going training, health benefits and more.

Adults age 55 and over can receive an hourly tax-free stipend ($2.65/hour) helping children with school activities, reinforcing learning, helping with art projects, and more. This is a great opportunity if you have time to spare, love to be with children, and could use some extra non-taxable income. Volunteers are needed at schools in the St. Cloud School District (Discovery, Kennedy, Oak Hill, Westwood), at Pine Meadow in Sartell, and at Cold Spring Elementary.
