Volunteer Treasurer Position at Educational Non-Profit

General: Oversee day to day finances of Non-profit. Input / track data with QuickBooks (tm) or similar software. Work with director on budget and long-range planning. Work with Director and grant-writers to provide needed financial data in Grant-writing process.

Specific duties include:

1. Submit 1099 and 1096 tax forms to employees and IRS annually
2. Pay annual bills as required for organization
3. Reconcile with Bank monthly
4. Electronically file 990-N form
5. File annual report to NJ Department of Revenue and Enterprise
6. Generate W9 forms as needed
7. Generate tax letters for donors as needed
8. Submit CRI-200 short form
9. Close books at end of year, start up new year
10. Collect and store receipts/ financial documents
11. Pay Captains, Engineers and Docents throughout season
12. Maintain organizational practices to conform to Non-profit guidelines

Hours of time required:

Weekly: one to two depending on time of year

Note: Operation is seasonal and weekly time is reduced off season

Monthly: 3 - 4 hours to collate receipts and reconcile

Short bursts: Various tasks as outlined above may require an hour or two or more to complete task

Note: Guidance provided, accounting credentials not required but some related experience desirable. References required.
