ASSE, a non-profit international student exchange sponsor organization is seeking host families for the upcoming semester or year beginning August 2016. Host families provide housing, food, and transportation for their exchange student son or daughter over a semester to full academic year. Students, who range in ages from 15-18, come with their own insurance coverage and spending money. Please consider opening up your home and your heart to a young person from overseas. It will be a life-changing experience for your whole family!
We are always searching for host families who would be willing to welcome a stranger into their home and treat them as family. It should come as no surprise that a large portion of our host families are mature couples, where they understand the value of generosity and kindness to strangers.
On a practical level, the students require food, housing, and transportation. They come with their own health insurance and spending money. All students, whose ages range from 15 to 18, will attend a local high school. Apart from school, they participate in family activities and other social events, just as a normal son or daughter would do. Their greatest need is for a loving family to open its door and give them the chance to become immersed in American life and culture.
