Volunteer Receptionist - Meals on Wheels People

Since 1970 Meals on Wheels People has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors throughout 30 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals on Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 8,000 volunteers, the nonprofit organization now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.3 million meals each year.

Are you looking for a work experience opportunity with an amazing local nonprofit? A Volunteer Receptionist is needed to assist staff with administration and office support! We are looking for someone who is available 3-4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Refer calls to appropriate staff member
• Transfer calls to other Meals on Wheels People Centers as needed
• Screen calls to eliminate the number of "cold calls" that are transferred to another employee
• Greet walk-in visitors in a professional and courteous manner
• Word processing, data entry, and other clerical duties
• Other duties and projects as assigned
• Must complete and pass a volunteer registration form and background check

*** Duties may be expanded based on time, experience and eagerness.
