ORGANIZATION: ADAS CAFE

Position Overview:

The position provides the opportunity to gain exposure to the non-profit, food, and disabilities community. As social media volunteer you will be designing full social media strategies in addition to creating and posting all social media content. Content will include photos (Cafe food, people, space, events), sharing relevant articles, employee spotlights, and other exciting content.


You will work remotely most of the week, with occasional visits to the cafe to take pictures and engage with the employees and customers. You will also be asked to come to larger catering events.

You will post 6 days a week, which should only take 15-30 min per day, resulting in 1.5-3 hours of work per week.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and post content to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram everyday

  • Engage with other relevant companies and personalities via social media

  • Liaise with cafe owner and manager, who will provide you with photo content to post if you are not in the cafe that day

  • Take high quality photos of food, people, and environment

  • Brainstorm, plan, and execute social media strategies

  • Increase page traffic and engagement with Ada’s Cafe brand

  • Occasionally update the website


Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms and effective digital media marketing strategies

  • Interest in non-profit sector and social causes

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills

  • Ability to follow direction and to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm

  • Must have a positive, friendly attitude, and be a team player


Ideal Candidate:

  • High school or college student

  • Is interested in pursuing a career in social media marketing, journalism, writing

  • Lives and breathes social media and has demonstrated ability to produce popular and highly engaged-with content


Salary/Schedule:

This is an unpaid volunteer position, ideal for those who are looking to work for a cause and take on an experience of leadership and learning. Your schedule will be roughly around 5 hours a week, with a 90-120 day commitment.
