Dates, times, locations are all specific to the seniors in need. Volunteer Services works to provide light house cleaning once or twice a month to low-income seniors in the community. VS is flexible and works with the volunteer's availability and schedule! Many folks looking for some extra help around the house live with chronic pain or mobility issues, which prevents them from keeping up with vacuuming, dusting, and sweeping. If you are looking to donate several hours of your time a month towards helping someone tidy up their home, this may be the perfect opportunity for you! We also work with low-income adults with disabilities in the community who are in search of some house work assistance. A couple hours of light house work can make a huge positive impact in someone's ability to continue safe, independent living.

Mission Statement
We believe every child should grow up in a safe, loving and nurturing environment We believe the elderly should be able to live with security and dignity. We believe healthy family life should be affirmed and supported in our communities We believe in compassion, love and respect for all people, especially the poor and most vulnerable. We believe in joining with others to change systems that oppress, discriminate or otherwise cause human suffering. We believe employees and volunteers should work in an environment that fosters respect, teamwork and excellence. We believe in all of these things for all people, whatever their color, whatever language they speak or however they worship.
Description
Our program exists as a safety net for low-income elders and people with disabilities (also low-income)by providing them with services that allow them to remain living as independently as possible in their own homes (not assisted living). For example, a 89 year old woman who only collects $600/mo. in Social Security needs help with her lawn. She can't afford to pay someone, and if her lawn goes a couple of months without being mowed, now the lawn is a fire hazard.
