At Kids On The Move we want to empower parents to care for their children with developmental delays. We offer free evening parenting classes and provide childcare at no cost. Volunteers play with children so parents can focus on educating themselves and becoming even more effective and active in their children's progression. Children learn social skills and other important behavioral lessons with these volunteers, and it's a ton of fun!
Childcare sessions generally last from 1-2 hours. Dates vary depending on class schedules. All dates are listed at this link: http://kotm.org/volunteer-portal. **All volunteers please register at this link**

Mission Statement
Supporting the development of young children and families
Description
At Kids On The Move, our mission is simple: to support the healthy development of young children and families in Utah.
We empower families, one kid at a time, to lead more successful lives and to be less dependent on government assistance through five major service programs:
Early Head Start, Early Intervention, Respite Care, Child and Family Mental Health, and our Autism Center.
Early Head Start focuses on low-income families facing challenges, such as teen or single parents. They also learn how to make nutritious meals and how to set and achieve goals for family self sufficiency.
Early Intervention enhances development and reduces the impact of disabilities and developmental delays for infants and toddlers. We provide services such as speech, physical and occupational therapy, family training, nursing and social work.
Respite Care is the temporary care of children with special needs, providing a short period of rest or relief to their usual caregivers. We provide Respite Care to families of children with special needs to give them a 3.5 hour break on weekend nights so that caregivers can relieve stress, renew energy, and restore balance.
Child and Family Mental Health offers a wide range of mental health services important to all family members.
We’ve expanded our Autism Center to prepare kids older than three with social skills and learning experiences needed to successfully enter the school system. We provide families with the quality services they need, not just the services they can afford.
