Vision Statement: We envision a community that honors the validity of child and family grief by facilitating the healing process.
Crossroads Kids is a three-day, two night camp held at Lake Doniphan Conference and Retreat Center in Excelsior Springs, MO. By incorporating therapeutic activities into a fun camping experience, Crossroads Kids allows children to connect with peers who are also experiencing grief. It is a time for attendees to share their experience in a safe place while developing coping skills to take with them when they leave.
In order to achieve our vision, we maintain a 1:2 ratio of staff to campers to ensure ample supervision and support. All therapeutic groups are overseen by credentialed , masters's level social work and psychology staff.
How can you help as a Buddy? We ask that our volunteers be as committed to our mission and our campers as we are. For more information please contact Sandy Doolittle or Veronica Evans at 913-850-7500 or email volunteerKAN@crossroadshospice.com.
Volunteers must complete a mandatory Saturday training, TB Test and background and finger print test. CPR Certification required.

Mission Statement
Crossroads is committed to being at the forefront of the hospice care industry, to continually shape the way palliative care is viewed and administered so that everyone can expect more from us.
Description
Expect More From Us. We Do. Why not? That's a questions we ask ourselves every day. In fact it is the question responsible for our beginning and has made us what we are today. Because "why not?" helps us find new and better ways to deliver hospice care to patients, families, caregivers and health care professionals alike. It helps us connect with our communities, share our knowledge, be accessible 24/7, innovate, lead and raise the bar. In fact, "why not?" has helped us create a hospice experience we believe is second to none...and are confident you'll agreee.
