The Events Department Coordinates MCCLA's performance arts programming, annual events and organizes promotion and media relations for all Center activities. The work environment is fast-paced and multi-faceted.
Applicants should be highly-organized, handle stress well, and be able to prioritize activities while managing multiple deadlines.
The ideal candidate will possess experience or the capacity to learn the following qualities/characteristics:
Familiarity with copy writing for press releases
Experience managing relations with print media, TV, and radio personel
An understanding historic and present elements of the Latino Arts as expressed in the US (dance, spoken word/poetry, film/video, music, theater) and manage relations with artists of various performance genres
Experience with event promotion
Familiarity with computers, internet research, MS Word, Excel
Familiarity with social media promotion

The MCCLA makes the arts accessible as an essential element to community development and well-being. As a community non-profit arts organization, MCCLA prides itself in enriching, in a most unique way, the cultural and artistic life of the Mission, San Francisco, and Bay Area residents as well. The Board of Directors, Management and Staff, share a commitment to providing quality and relevant art programs and services, and to working with community individuals and groups in the pursuit of this vision.
