Seeking VIDEOGRAPHERS in the DC Metro Area for a short film/music video about black male interaction with the U.S. justice system
The Survivant Organization (TSO), a non-profit located in Washington, D.C. dedicated to assisting female victims of domestic and sexual violence aged 16-24 is seeking videographers to help to film a short film/music video about the black male interaction with the justice system as we approach this upcoming Election Day. Here is a brief description of the project:
Short film/Music Video: "TRUE COLORS: OATHKEEPERS" PROJECT:
Synopsis: In this 2 part project, we will discuss the history of race relations and people of color in the US, specifically the cross sections between men concerning crime, stereotypes, and consequences across the country. In Part 1, a lawyer, judge, and police officer review their "oaths" and examine the repercussions of breaking that oath. In Part 2, we will tell the fictional story of an African-American male’s interaction with the justice system in a music video.
If you are interested in being a videographer for this project, we are having a meeting THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9TH at MLK Jr LIBRARY from 2:30-4:30 PM. Here are more details:

Address: 901 G St NW, Washington, DC 20001
Date: THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9TH
Time: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Space: Room A-3 (located downstairs using the elevator)
MLK Jr. Library is metro accessible from both Metro Center and Gallery Place/Chinatown stops.
You do not need to bring your equipment with you but please bring along a list of what you do have, if any. Attached is a guideline for videographers so please take a look at it prior to attending the meeting and bring it with you. If you have any friends that might be interested in videography, please share this email announcement with them and bring them with you to the meeting.
