Children on the Green Preschoolers

Children on the Green (childrenonthegreen.org) is seeking a board secretary for its Board of Trustees. The position involves the following responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that an agenda has been prepared by the board president and that the agenda is distributed in advance of the meeting
  • Recording minutes during bimonthly board meetings.
  • Distributing via email agenda, minutes and all other board meeting documents
  • Maintaining and retaining board meeting documents and records, including bylaws, Form-990, roster of board members
  • Tracking board members' and officers' terms and contact information
  • Scheduling and notifying board members of upcoming meetings
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, capable of extracting and communicating key information from lengthy conversations and has an interest in quality early childhood education for a diverse community that includes children from homeless shelters. Currently board meetings are being held virtually on a bimonthly basis, in the evening. Post-COVID, meetings will be held in person at 50 S. Park Place in Morristown in the morning.
