Children on the Green (childrenonthegreen.org) is seeking a board secretary for its Board of Trustees. The position involves the following responsibilities:
Ensuring that an agenda has been prepared by the board president and that the agenda is distributed in advance of the meeting
Recording minutes during bimonthly board meetings.
Distributing via email agenda, minutes and all other board meeting documents
Maintaining and retaining board meeting documents and records, including bylaws, Form-990, roster of board members
Tracking board members' and officers' terms and contact information
Scheduling and notifying board members of upcoming meetings
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, capable of extracting and communicating key information from lengthy conversations and has an interest in quality early childhood education for a diverse community that includes children from homeless shelters. Currently board meetings are being held virtually on a bimonthly basis, in the evening. Post-COVID, meetings will be held in person at 50 S. Park Place in Morristown in the morning.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
