EVO is thankful for volunteers who can help with the children at a summer camp, an after-school program throughout the year, prep and prepare meals in the kitchen throughout the summer and other various tasks and ways to give back. The mission of EVO is to build social, racial and economic bridges to connect communities, organizations and people for the enhancement and transformation of all in the East End of Pittsburgh (Bloomfield, Garfield, Friendship, East Liberty, Homewood, Wilkinsburg and Lawrenceville). The vision of EVO is to walk alongside children and families on a long-term basis as they are guided into healthy functional mature adults. According to the UPMC 2000 census, there are over 2500 children in the targeted areas living below the poverty level

Mission Statement
The SNAP Consumer Community Service Coalition is an online listing of volunteer projects at non-profits throughout Southwestern PA that may be suitable for food stamp (SNAP) recipients who are required to find a service project in order to maintain their benefits. This is a project of Just Harvest. Just Harvest educates, empowers and mobilizes people to eliminate hunger, poverty, and economic injustice in our communities by influencing public policy, engaging in advocacy, and connecting people to public benefits.
Description
Effective March 2016, Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) are required to complete service hours each month in order to maintain their food stamp (SNAP) benefits, unless they work 20 hours per week, have a short-term disability as verified by a doctor, reside in a high-unemployment municipality, or have another good cause waiver.
