Heart Hands
YOU can make a difference!

Many people at the end of their lives are unable to go out and see their friends and do the hobbies they loved so much. If you become a Hospice Volunteer, you can go to them! No matter where they live or how much they are still able to do, people on hospice benefit from the friendly presence of volunteers.

Volunteer with Medical City Hospice and Family Care and provide companionship and caring presence to hospice patients living at a DFW community or at home in the Plano area. You will receive free orientation and training and will be able to meet patients to read, share stories, listen to music, or provide respite for family members. Your companionship and caring presence ensures that patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort. Medical City Hospice and Family Care has many other locations in the DFW area and surrounding cities.

Training and orientation will be scheduled to fit to your schedule. Contact stephen.schwartz2@hcahealthcare.com

Mission Statement

Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. In pursuit of our mission, we believe the following value statements are essential and timeless: •We recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual. •We treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness. •We trust our colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect, and dignity. •We act with absolute honesty.

Description

Life is much more than physical health; it is also the dignity of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes increasingly important. Hospice care is a service that aids the transition between living and dying by providing respect, care, comfort, and support to patients and families.

Medical City Hospice and Family Care volunteers provide important support to the care of our patients and families.

HCA Healthcare is in 20 states and the United Kingdom and is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services. Our affiliate serving the DFW area is Medical City Hospice and Family Care.
