Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Befriend a hospice patient and help them with the hobbies they love so much. No matter where they live or how much they are still able to do, people on hospice benefit from the friendly presence of volunteers. Activities of flower arranging, gardening, listening to music, strolls through the garden are some of many ways a volunteer can engage our patients. Volunteer with Brookdale Hospice and provide companionship and caring presence to hospice patients living at Brookdale Lewisville. You will receive free orientation and training and will be able to meet patients to read, share stories, listen to music, provide respite for family members. Your companionship and caring presence ensures that patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort. Brookdale Hospice has many other locations in Denton, Plano and surrounding cities. Training and orientation will be arranged to fit to your schedule. Contact email@example.com.
