About

Description: 10-15 hours per week. Recruit, provide orientation, and assign volunteers, maintain a database of active (and inactive) volunteers, follow-up with newly assigned volunteers, mentor volunteers for currently needed skills, work with committees to provide volunteers as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Rogers Park Food Co-op Board of Directors, committees and volunteers.
  • Ensure events are adequately staffed by the appropriate number of volunteers
  • Organize and maintain a database of volunteers with contact information
  • Maintain technical database of volunteer activities

Qualifications:

  • Desire to build relationships, educate, and develop a volunteer community to support the needs of the food co-op
  • Understanding of the co-op structure, co-op status in the development process and the current needs for volunteers
  • Ability to engage and motivate different types of people
  • Great organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive and compassionate attitude
  • Enjoys working with people
