We work with young adults with a wide range of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, such as Autism. We hold events in the community at different locations and also meet up at free community events, helping to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy new experiences, meet new people, and make friends! It can be difficult to be social after highschool ends, and this is where Griffin's Place comes in!
We hold a number of events throughout the year that require help to greet, serve, decorate, set up/ tear down, direct participants to quiet areas, help gather feedback with surveys, and join in the fun to get everyone having a great time! We may also go on trips to the Zoo, a Hops game, or a museum and love having a large team of volunteers just to make everyone comfortable.
You can serve with us for just a few hours a month or on a more regular basis, creating a fun and safe environment for all attendees! We're happy to work with teens, adults, and seniors--- no one is excluded from being able to join Team Griffin!

Description
We are a Washington County group that focuses on young adults, mainly ages 14-25, with intellectual/developmental disabilities, working to help them make the transition into adulthood. We both create unique events that are designed to support those with disabilities and invite the general community to join us, or go to public events as a group, as to encourage independence. We actively seek to help young adults form a community and make friendships, as it can be very isolating for people with disabilities after they leave school or their family home.
