ORGANIZATION: Flagler Beach Historical Museum

In our 2nd decade, the Flagler Beach Historical Museum is growing by leaps and bounds. We are looking for volunteers, docents, and friendly, fun people of all ages and a variety of skills. Here are some of our current opportunities!

DOCENTS:

Without our docents, the Museum doors at 207 South Central Avenue would never open. Join the program to help greet our guests and answer their questions. Learn all about Flagler Beach and Flagler County; impart your new knowledge to visitors and then learn more from area residents as they share their stories with you.

To get started, you'll be provided with a descriptive pictoral history booklet to use as reference for the photos in the Museum. Group and/or personalized training is also provided. You can work alongside another docent for as long as you wish. Take on a 3 hour shift and see how flexible we are!

We're open daily from 10am-4pm and 6pm-9pm on First Fridays of each month, and occasional other evenings during special events. Join us a few hours a month or a couple times a week. We can customize our schedule to fit with yours!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Mission Statement

The mission of The Flagler Beach Historical Museum is to provide both a physical and social archive for preservation of the history of Flagler Beach and the surrounding area. The FBHM will collect both artifacts and oral histories from the past and the present to be available to future generations. We will partner with other historic and educational organizations to provide a resource for research especially for our area's youth.

Description

We are a museum adjoining the Flagler Beach City Hall and have many photos, books, and historic artifacts from Flagler Beach and Flagler County. We are also very active in the community's special events like Family Movie Night, Holiday at the Beach, and much more. We host an annual costume fund-raising gala that is unique to Flagler Beach.
