Hospice of Anchorage is looking for additional caring volunteers to help facilitate our Forget Me Not Grief Groups. Forget Me Not is a community program, providing peer support in a safe space. Groups meet twice a month, on Thursday evenings.
Training for volunteers begins Friday, January 26th. You must be able to pass a background check and commit a year of service. All training events are on evenings and weekends. To volunteer you must complete all training events which are the following:

To help individuals and families prepare for and live well with serious life-limiting illness, dying, and grief.
Description
Our purpose is to protect the dignity, comfort, and autonomy of those facing life-limiting illness, end of life, and grief through education and compassionate service. Hospice of Anchorage works with patients and their families to provide assistance to meet the transition from life through death and to cope with loss and grief. This may be a one-time visit, periodic contact or may grow into an ongoing relationship lasting weeks or months. All services are provided free of cost.
