About Us :

South Jersey Robotics (SJR) is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth through innovative STEM programs, including a high school pre-engineering program, award-winning competitive robotics teams, aerial and drone education, and community focused initiatives like our Girls World equity program and Adaptive Device development. Our programs not only develop future-ready skills in young people but also give back to the community.

The Role :

We are seeking a passionate and creative volunteer social media director who will elevate the visibility of SJR's impactful work. This volunteer will be instrumental in telling our story - amplifying the voices of our students, volunteers, and mentors -- through compelling digital content. For the right candidate, this position may grom into a board membership opportunity, providing additional leadership experience and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and execute a consistent and strategic social media plan across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc)

Share stories of student success, such as international youth robotics awards, drone and aerial tech initiatives, and recognition of our equity program global advancement

Create and manage engaging posts, graphics, videos, and community updates

Collaborate with program leads to highlight milestones and achievements

Monitor engagement analytics and adapt strategies accordingly

Support the promotion of events, fundraisers, and community initiatives

What We're Looking For :

Someone with a passion for youth development, technology, education or community service

Strong communication skills and social media savvy

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Experience in content creation, digital marketing, or nonprofit communication is a plus but not required

Willingness to explore future involvement as a board member, contributing to strategic growth

The vision of SJR is to build life-long skills in students of Southern NJ and surrounding areas, enabling them to expand their horizons and be successful in their future paths.

Description

South Jersey Robotics, Inc was established as a non-profit in 2008. SJR is an organization made up of volunteer mentors from professional STEM careers and industry partners, and parents, who give their time to encourage students in Southern NJ to pursue on-going education in Science, Technology, and Engineering.

Our programs focus is on life long learning in math, science, engineering and digital skills, as well as other core skills such as teamwork, project management, and public speaking. Our program has expanded across four counties to bring robotics currciulum to elementary, middle school, and high school students.
