The group is made up of volunteers from diverse backgrounds who come togeather on a monthly basis to produce fundraising events. It's FUN(draising), we promise! No experience required. Committee memebers dedicate at least 3 hours/month to volunteering, including attendance at montly eveing meetings.
We ask that Events Committee members:
Attend monthly committee meetings and major Subcommittee events
- Expect to dedicate at least 2 hours per month to Events Committee (including monthly meetings)
- Commit to at least 1 Subcommittee: Gala, Chili Cook-Off, 5K Run/Walk, Community Events
Serve as ambassadors for RESPOND and your Subcommittee
- Promote the event, invite guests
- Increase awareness of RESPOND’s work
- Engage in related social media
Secure donations of items and services for silent & live auctions, mystery prizes and prize drawings
- Make asks and/or forward leads on auction items
- Assist with data tracking and donor acknowledgment by populating shared Google Doc
Bring in corporate sponsors
- Utilize connections
- Make asks and/or forward leads on sponsorship opportunities
Acquire program ad sponsors
- Help create the program book
- Reach out to corporations and individuals to purchase an ad
Coordinate event logistics (i.e. entertainment, menu, centerpieces, etc)
Help set up or assist during program the night of the event
Assist with recruitment of new Committee members

Mission Statement
RESPOND, Inc. partners with individuals, families and communities to end the serious public health issue of domestic violence. RESPOND strives to achieve its mission through prevention, intervention, advocacy and direct services that promote safe, healthy relationships.
Description
RESPOND provides emergency shelter and a range of support services to thousands of survivors of domestic violence each year including adults, children and teens regardless of race, religion, gender or other characteristic. RESPOND staff work with survivors of domestic violence to address their immediate and long-term needs, providing emotional support, counseling, intensive advocacy, information and referrals. Through RESPOND’s programs, individuals and families in crisis develop the concrete tools necessary to regain control of their own lives--from parenting skills and housing search to literacy skills, and the hands-on experience of advocating for themselves. Services are free, confidential and currently offered in multiple languages. The Crisis Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All other Community Services are available Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm, by appointment and for walk-ins.
