Fashion Rocks Autism

Fashion Rocks Autism is our annual fundraiser. We have people with autism, family members of people with autism, news personalities, and local celebrities on the runway, strutting to a hot AC/DC tribute band. The event also includes live and silent auctions, service dog puppies, penguins from The Baltimore Zoo, multiple pageant winner, and swag bags.

We need energetic volunteers who want to help organize the event on-site, making sure guests have fun, know where they are going, and who will help us with our awesome live and silent auctions.

Having autism and helping a family member with autism is sometimes exhausting, isolating, and stressful. This night is about FUN and raising money to find out why autism prevalence keeps increasing, and why more people with autism have seizures, gastrointestinal problems, and try to commit suicide more often than their "typical" peers. It is meaningful, memorable, and fun. Come join us!!

Description

SafeMinds is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to end the autism epidemic by promoting environmental research and effective treatments. We refuse to accept the paradigm of an unchecked epidemic and widespread suffering.

Most of our work is carried out through the volunteer efforts of our board and committee members, and we operate with a small paid staff so most of our dollars can go to programs. Our model embraces risk-taking and experimental approaches. to accelerate urgent breakthrough research and practices that will make an immediate difference.
