First Step Graduation Celebration

We’re looking for volunteers to sponsor our Preschool Graduation! We are in need of volunteers as well as support to help purchase and set up food and a celebratory cake for our graduates and their families, details highlighted below.

If you can supply some of the food or some of the time, we'd be pleased to include you in our graduation celebration!

Volunteers Needed:

Individuals or group to help with set up, the ceremony, and clean up.

Date: Thursday, August 23rd from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Location: FamilyWise; 3036 University Ave. SE, Minneapolis

Supplies for Light Dinner:

** Graduation Cake to serve 40-50
This year, all our graduates are girls! They love Frozen, Shine and Shimmer, anything Disney Princess and Hello Kitty!

** Hot Dog Dinner or Pizzas

At last year's graduation event, volunteers supplied hot dogs, 'not' dogs (veggie dogs), and turkey dogs, buns and chips.
If that is not possible, we were thinking Little Caesar's pizzas would be an easy and affordable option.

This is First Step Early Childhood Education Center's largest graduation ceremony ever! We have 5 girls graduating from our preschool class before they head off to Kindergarden. We also have another 4 former preschool program participants coming back to join us in the celebration. These young children will be performing the songs they learned with their teachers this year for all their family and friends.

We expect around 50 people to attend this event, which is on Thursday August 23rd in the evening. Volunteers must arrive for set up between 4:30 and 4:45 and are expected to stay until 7:15 or 7:30 for clean up support.

FamilyWise needs volunteers to help us decorate for graduation, arrange the large classroom for our guests, pick-up and prepare a light dinner, cut and serve cake, and clean up after the social.
